About Sanya Chandra (A Tribute to Promising Scholar)
Sanya Chandra (2002–2025) was a gifted literary scholar whose passion for words and ideas left a profound impact on all who knew her. A topper of the B.A. (Hons) English program at SGTB Khalsa College, Delhi University, Sanya was celebrated for her intellectual rigor, poetic sensibility, and deep empathy. She was pursuing her M.A. in English at Ashoka University, where she completed her first semester with excellent grades before her untimely passing at the age of 22. Sanya's academic brilliance was matched by her active engagement in research—she participated in and won several national-level research paper competitions, presentations and graphic writing, often exploring intersections of language, identity, and literature. Her dream was to bring Maithili literature to global recognition by building bridges between Indian languages and English literary traditions. The Trust stands as a living tribute to her vision, ensuring that her light continues to guide generations of scholars and artists.
